Sardinia Events Guide: sometimes it seems that every day is a Festa...
Those from countries where Christmas, New Year, Easter and an occasional firework “event” is only supplemented by all to rare non-descript public holidays will find Sardinia a refreshing change.
As you would expect for a traditional agricultural region many, particularly in the autumn, are related to the completion of harvest. Many however are very important cultural, religious and historical events.
Some are reasons for celebration throughout the island but most are specific to one commune (town) and are proudly defended traditions involving processions, horse riding and parades in traditional “Sarda” costumes.
You can select by area and date range (click on dates for calendar).
Hover your mouse over these icons for the main towns (not just Alghero, Cagliari and Olbia!)
on the map to the left for contact details, please confirm dates as these may vary.
