Although Roman in origin the "centro storico" of Tempio Pausania mostly displays buildings (all in characteristic local grey granite) from the 18th/19th century. The "Cattedrale di San Pietro" has a 15th century bell tower and entrance, and opposite the "Oratorio del Rosario" is of Spanish origin. The town hall is located in Piazza Gallura. Its economy is related both to production of "Vermentino" wine but also cork and granite. There is also a small civic museum "Museo Civico Berdnardo De Muro" dedicated to the world famous tenor (1881-1952) who was born and subsequently buried in Tempio Pausania.

| Countryside View | Fonte Nuova | Terme Rinaggiu | View of Aggius |
Tempio's location within mountainous territory gives it beautiful natural surroundings, with verdant woodland and in particular the lush, greenery of the woods and the famous springs of Fonti di Rinaggiu and Fonte Nuova (near the centre of town). The Fonti di Rinaggiu is well signposted and is a short drive from the town centre and has a shaded park area ideal for a picnic. In the sunmmer months it is possible to take the "trenino verde" to Palau (90 minutes) via Calangianus and Arzachena. Monte Limbara (1359 metres) is a dramatic, slow, but worthwhile drive for stunning views and lush vegetation. Below lies Aggius a small town surrounded by dramatic rock outcrops.
