Villasimius was founded by the Punici. Originally a fishing village, but over the last few decades has been developed into a wonderful tourist resort. Villasimius is located on the south eastern tip of Sardinia, around 40 km from the Island’s capital; Cagliari. This is a superb destination with magnificent beaches and crystal clear waters. Just a few kilometers out of Villasimus is the Stagno Notteri, which is a salt water lagoon, visited by flamingoes mostly in the winter-time.
