Beautiful Coastline & Beaches

The Costa del Sud offers some dramatic coastal drives and beautiful less developed beaches than you will find nearer Cagliari. Starting from Porto Teulada, which has a relatively new pleasure harbour Porto Nou, and just to its east on a promontory a Spanish watchtower. On the other side of the tower is another pleasant mooring area with restaurant. You can then follow the coast road to the beach at Tuerredda (in the direction of Chia) and take in some stunning views.

Tuerredda beach is a long sandy beach with all sorts of watersports available. You then follow the road inland towards Chia and turn right towards Torre Chia with its Spanish watchtower on a high promontory. You can drive up but it is a steep winding climb, alternatively you can park at the bottom and walk up.Either way you'll get great views (these pictures were taken on a, not usual, rainy day in October). Chia itself is the tourist coastal area of Domus de Maria and features hotels, restaurants and camp sites.
