Located just outside the town of Barumini the nuraghic complex of Su Nuraxi was in 1997 inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The bronze age central tower dominates the surrounding area but in fact was higher one floor having collapsed. Su Nuraxi was constructed 3-3500 years ago and subsequently developed with additional wall defences around the original tower. There are the remains of an extensive settlement around this area including one which was apparently a meeting hall, with evident stone benches around its walls. In Barumini itself you will find the Chiesa di Santa Tecia.
